At first glance the images of ‘This is not America’ remind the viewer of the uniform favoured by a particular group of American racists. The images provoke attention and curiosity while teaching us to mistrust our snap judgement. In the end, the viewer realizes that the pictures actually show the Easter parade in Seville, a tradition that goes back to the 13th Century. This editorial work was commissioned by the magazine THE FACE.
