N.B.R / Karma
NOTHING BEATS REALITY. The world is full of nearly unbelievable but true stories. Stories about karmic occurrences, life after death situations, predetermined destiny or coincidence and moments of intuition.
Those stories can be found in medical reports, newspapers, insurance reports, police documents and many other reliable sources. 'Nothing Beats Reality' taps into this vast source of true documented stories and selects the most breathtaking. This project explores the universe to find out what lies between reality and the spiritual dimension. 'Nothing Beats Reality' was realized for Energie Jeans.
CASE STUDY #1: KARMA
Jake Heke, a car mechanic working in James Town, New Zealand, was commissioned to fix the brakes of a car. He agreed on fixing the car until early afternoon of the same day. But without finishing his job he left work that day to meet his brother for drinks and didn't go back. Later that afternoon Tu Whatanavi and his gang came by to pick up the car, as agreed, assuming it had been fixed. Afterwards they took a short cut through the forest where they coincidently saw the drunk mechanic stumble along the road. Just for the fun of it they started chasing him with the car. As Jake Heke starts running, Tu and his gang track him down closer and closer. When they finally hit the breaks - nothing. The breaks don't work. Jake Heke is seriously injured in this accident.
